Oil pressure gauge

I have problem with oil pressure. When I start engine that was off for few hours (cold), oil pressure gage shows low. It goes to normal lever after I drive for few miles. During that time H3 feels like 70% of power. Just like any car when you start it up and drive without waiting for engine to warm up. After I drive for few miles everything is ok.
I always wait 1-2 min to warm it up, so cold motor issue is out of question (choke). Also, oil level is ok. It started doing it after I changed oil for Mobil 1 (first oil change by dealer)
So, do you have same symptoms or do I have problem with oil pump?
BTW, I have only 2000 mils.

Re: Oil pressure gauge

as far as i know the H3 has now oil pressure gauge. It has a fuel level gauge and a temperature gauge, which is what i beleive you are refering to.

If that is what you are refering to, then i think your ok.

When I start mine cold and go right away or wait just a little bit, it makes alot of noise but doesnt feel like it has much power, kinda like reduced engine power.

Same thing on my other car, chevy, probly like this on all gm if not all brands. I think its supposed to be like that as a safety until the engine warms up, thats what i think.

Re: Oil pressure gauge

marin8703 is right, there is no oil pressure gage.
The loud noise you hear on engine startup is what they call the "dirty hose" for the PCV system and the vacuum in the engine is causing the loud rushing noise.
GM did a bulletin on this for the 3.5L engine, that tells the dealers/techs it is a normal condition for this engine.
Honestly, not exactly sure why it happens only upon startup. However, I did find out it might happen at other times too. It happened to me coming down the Lasal mountain loop road into Moab for about two hours, and drove me crazy, and then it went away.

Re: Oil pressure gage

Fresh cup of coffee in morning and car manual in hand will help me. It?s coolant temp gage, not oil pressure.
So yea, it will take few min. to warm up. Just the face on got me confused. Who reads car manuals, LOL!!!
