metallic sound from left wheel well
hi guys,
I've been experiencing this odd metallic noise from left wheel well (only); it only happens when making left turn, at slower speeds, like 20-30mpg, on traffic lights for instance. it's more pronounced when I don't accelerate or brake, just idle. I would almost say that I can "feel" the rattle through brake pedal if I touch it. Went to Hummer dealer with it while ago, they didn't solve anything - instead they blamed my 33" tires rubbing sway bar. Any idea? Anyone experience similar thing? It seems to me possibly related to the left brake, like something is loose there... |

If dealer did not try this...
Pull the left rear wheel and inspect inside the drum of the parking brake for a problem |

thanks. yes when I go to the dealer next time, I will ask them to have a detailed look at the brake area... it must be something loose there.. The sound is getting annoying. With this rattle I feel like driving a junker... |
Re: metallic sound from left wheel well
sorted it out finally - it turned out to be loose/bent front left brake shield. Undoubtedly result of my Joshua Tree NP trails trips... no metallic rattle anymore. Funny thing is that dealership couldn't sort it out until I pointed the noise source for them precisely.
