New 35x12.5x20 Toyo MT's & Moto Metal 955 rims!!

Well I finally got them! I had to wait a couple of weeks because the tires were on backorder. Thanks to H2 OHH! for answering questions and helping me make the decision to go with this set-up:beerchug:

I love the look of the MT's and the fact that they're not nearly as noisy as I thought they would be. I purchased the rims on-line, and had a local shop order and mount/balance the tires.

I just installed the rims on the truck a couple of days ago, and I do feel some vibration with this new set of rims and tires. Don't get me wrong, it's not terrible - just noticeable. The shop that mounted the tires is a quality place, and I've always been happy with their work. I stopped by another tire installer today that has a Hunter 9700 balancing machine to have the balancing checked. The shop owner told me I shouldn't waste my money by having him try to rebalance the tires because with the 20" rims and the heavy lug MT's, it'll never be perfect. In fact, he said that he's got 20" rims with some type of MT tires and he still gets vibration. This is a dude who owns a tire shop and a 1st rate tire balancer.

I know I can't expect these tires to ride like the Goodyear rubber that came from the factory. I'd like to know from any of you who are running the Toyo MT's if this is typical or if you've been able to dial things in perfectly.

Thanks for any responses you can provide! Now onto the pictures:jump:

perfect!!! dont stick out to much, tire doesn't look narrow and even the wheels are nice.

great choice mang!!

how much would he charge you for the rebalance/remount? IF its reasonable, just do it and see if it helped out. That is if he is not charging you something rediculous.

Thanks for the compliments!

obzidian - I think I'll take your advice and have the balancing checked anyway!

I have the same setup and I dont have any vibration so to speak, I Will say that no they dont ride like AT tires and none will. however, the toyo mts are more then I expected.
Anyway I dont think you should have vibration. I can feel the big treads on the road when going slow, and of course with less side wall(20 wheels) your going to have a rougher ride at speed too. driving on a crappy road the truck has more sway form the MT tires to, but again no vibration.
This is going to depend on what you call vibration too>?
is your steering wheel vibrating? or is the truck feel like its vibrating?

Nice looking setup. As far as vibration you should be able to get them balanced pretty darn close to no vibration if not perfect. I have found tire guys tend to put toyo m/t s in the same ballpark as say super swapers and it just isnt so. Too many people have had those tires with too many good results for them to not balance up. Anyway, your rig looks nice....now you just have to go wheel it to prove the 20in rim nay sayers wrong!

So why spend over 50K for a rig and then buy some cheap ass tires to go on it?

Hi, I also have an 2008 all terrain blue H2.

Your H2 looks really awesome.......

I am just curious if the overall diameter of the tires is the same as the standard 315/70/17 size.

Because your size is 35x12.5x20

Thanks.

Best regards,
Rick
