Body Lift for H2...will Chevy 2500HD work?

Hi. Just curious. I know there are some custom H2's out there with a Body Lift and I did read somewhere that the 2500HD 3" Body lift works for the H2. Anybody here try it? I used to have a BL on my Jeep TJ and it was quite easy to install. Any info on this out there? Cheers, Indy.

As far as the 2500hd kit working I couldnt say because ive never seen one.
But I have looked into body lifting My SUT. If you mechanically inclined it shouldnt be a problem. I will be body lifting mine this summer. you are probably better off ordering just what you need so you dont pay for bumper brackets and other vehicle specific stuff you cant use on the H2.

heres a quick list from memory of what you need. i will find my paper work eventually...

(12) 3" lift blocks plus new bolts (12mm x 180mm)
Ground strap extensions
Ebrake cable relocation kit
Steering extension
Fuel fill tube extension
The fan shroud needs to be moved/modified, there are 2 small coolant lines that need to be extended while doing this I believe.(good time to switch to electric fans)
The front bumper just needs a 3" filler between the lower steel bumper and the ghetto plastic bumper with the DRLs
Rear bumper you will have to get creative to get a nice fit. Some fabrication will be needed.
Its not a tuff job just lots of details to get it done right. I can go into more detail if you would like let me know. the parts i listed above can be bought from Performance accessories.they wont have any parts listed for the H2 but 2500 parts or avalanche parts should work. I will post a few pics tomorrow to explain.

Sounds interesting. Post some pics of the install and the finished result when done. I have done a BL on my TJ and it was pretty straight foreward. Not sure yet if I like the look of a BL on my H2, but it is an interesting possibility. Thanks for the info. Cheers, Indy.

I just installed a 2" body lift on mine. We used a 03-05 2500HD kit so the bolts would have the same TPI, but we had to buy 4 more bolts. Besides fabbing bumper brackets it was pretty straight forward. My installer said next time he wouldn't buy a kit as the oem fuel hose is more than long enough (at least on the 2" kit) and the steering extender was not necessary since they have a telescoping steering shaft. Basically buy the pucks and match up some bolts, or buy a kit and have a lot of extra parts that your can't use. I'm waiting for him to send me more pics and I'll do a write up. I opted for only a 2" since the 3" will show a gap between the frame and body right before the rear wheel wells and you will see some of the body lift blocks.
