Hi Guys,
Has anyone had experience with extended warranty insurance? I've just purchased a 2000 H1 with 35,000 miles, and am thinking about the reputed high cost of repairs on the H1. The claims made, and quotations offered on the web are very enticing, until you get the real quote!
Many thanks
Alex

www.exoticwarranty.com I have not used them but know the owner over hummer forums for many years. I got a GMPP around the time he started selling Hummer warranties so I do not have experience with his warranties. On a side note I usually tell my dealer what is wrong with the truck before it goes in so I tend to save up my warranty claims to get the most out of my deductible.

I got quotes from exotic warranty & also GMPP (from local GM dealer). Both were over $7k for a 3 year warranty w/ $100 deductible. Considering what they "do & don't cover" & a $100 deductible, I figured it wasn't worth it.

AFAIK, these are the only 2 companies that cover H1's.

To All:

I just spoke to Ben Evans at Exotic Warranty.

THERE IS NO TRUTH TO THE RUMORS...

No truth whatsoever. If anyone is interested, you may certainly
contact the insurance commission and ask them about the status
of Exotic Warranty Company.

If someone with posting privs at the other forum would please
cross-post this, I would appreciate it.

Come on G.B., stop trying to stir the sh1tpot up again just because you are a loser.

Making up things like that and posting to a public forum is SLANDER and you can be sued.

Exotic has a good record. Stop trying to harm their business with LIES.

I had a great experience with GM PP.. previous to my 04 open top I had a 99 open top. with 42k The engine blew. GM picked up the entire bill except for the $100.00 deductible. I paid $200 for a 2/24 with $100 ded. well worth the cost the machanic wuld have been a $12,000 job without the warranty.

GMPP is the best. Anything else will not be there when the t case goes out or your local hummer repairman screws up. (seen it man)I have even had owners remove and send in half shafts after Hummer events and got em replaced. It is not perfect but with a good dealer it can really pay for it's self if you get a big one.

Just had a rear seal replaced. $10 gasket about 7 inches in diameter. Have to remove the doghouse, to remove the screws that hold the transmission, to replace the gasket. Warranty hours wer 7.5 although it really took 13 and was provided with a car while waiting for parts and the install! Yes, GMPP is worth every penny!

My 2002 h1 doesn't have a warranty. Hopefully that I find an insurance company that can offer a warranty for the h1.

Ben Allen 11-23-2005 08:35 PM

I got one for my 2002 h1 and it was about 4 grand for 36/36 and it paid for it self with in the first six months are repairs. It was through gmpp.

HUMMERDOGG 11-24-2005 07:56 AM

Ben-

Did you buy the truck new and get the additional warranty then or did you buy it used and get the warranty after it already had miles on it?

4churchill 12-11-2005 04:26 AM
