If you want to do some exploring... There's a road headed east out of Boulder, UT called Burr Trail... It connects to 276 just a bit north of Bullfrog Landing on Lake Powell... I was going to give it a try on the motorcycle back in Sept 05 when I was out there, but one of the locals told me some of the trail was washed out and 4wd's were the only things able to make it across even when dry. I imagine other than the washouts, it's not much more than a dirt road.

There's a neat little campground down in a canyon between Escalante and Boulder on Hwy12 called Calf Creek.. It's a little oasis in what looks like it could be Hell.. VERY quite little spot.. There's a little stream running through the middle of the campground and that is the only sound to disturb the quite at night.. With the rare exception of an occasional car passing by on the roadway a few hundred feet above you on the rim of the canyon. There's a road between Escalante and Boulder called Hell's Backbone.. Imagine it's not much more than a gravel road too... You can pick it up headed west off 12 just south of Boulder or off of Pine Creek Road going north out of Escalante...

Anyroads.. Just some places I was wanting to explore and haven't had the chances to...

I recall a couple of tunnels from that trip, but none stand out right now.. After 4 or 5 trips up and down the Blue Ridge Parkway and a few dozen tunnels each time, they all have kinda started running together...

I thought the checkerboard rock was in Zion, as well as the Mount Carmel tunnel. Did you make it that for south? I was there a few month back hiking the Narrows. Temps were hot then, but it looks like it was great for you.

Keep on kickin it Neo.
