Oil Change a mess on H3...

Just did my 7th oil change on my H3 and it never ceases to amaze me why GM in its wisdom puts a cross bar directly under both the oil drain plug and the filter...
Every time there is oil splashed around. Good thing there is alot of newspaper and rags in my garage!
Just cant trust those cowboys at the service station. What tricks do you guru's use to control the flow of sludge?

I bet they have a "tool" you can buy for $79.96 to assist in the oild change :lol:
