the future of my H3

My 06 H3 now has 110,000 miles on it. Its been a pretty good truck and for one that has been ridden kind of hard and put up damp if not wet but Im planning for the future now. I dont do any major rock crawling but I do driving in snow, mud, and sand on what you guys would consider light to moderate trails. I fish at the beach alot and driving on the beach I am never affraid of getting stuck, but did find the truck over heated quickly my thinking is due to lack of power causing me to run at higher rpms to stay on top of the sand. I love the look of my truck and Im going to drive the thing until the wheels fall of her (hopefully a ways down the road).

We all know the only real problem with the H3 is lack of power. Ive been toying with the idea of putting a bigger engine either V8 or maybe diesel in it and maybe a 4" lift and lockers. Im hoping the cost of this would be less than buying a new vehicle and I could convince the wife that it would be the best move (so I could keep my 3). Any idea on what engines will fit and how much would have to be done to make this possible PCM ect...????

I know this is kind of out there, but I figured maybe someone has thought about doing this or would like to rack their brains about it.
