Roof rack cross bars!

I have a question

I want to buy roof rack cross bars for my h3, but I do not want to pay the OEM price from hummer. I found a few bifferent ones on ebay and want your thoughts.

ARIES BLACK ROOF RACK CROSS BARS - $198.00

HUMMER PARTS CLUB NAME-BRAND Roof Rack Cross Bars - $185.00

Aries claim theres are the best (Off Course) and the other claims that all these cross bars are made by the same manufacturer and are identical. Do all these look like the OEM bars?

Thanks for any help.

I didn't do an extensive search, but from the little I read most of these are identical to the GM stock ones that sell retail for over $500 (can find cheaper). I saw the Aries version offered by more of the "reputable" dealers, so that is what I decided to go with. Saturday I did a search on eBay and saw an auction from G-Style that had theirs at 5% off ($188) for a few days, plus free shipping. They are on the way! Here is one of their auctions (back to $198...sorry!):

I should get mine in the next couple of days (I hope!) and will post a review. A freind here at work has an '08 w/ the stock cross bars. I will try to get him to let me look at his for a comparison!

I work for the factory that makes these H3 cross bars for Aries and we also make them for the company that HummerPartsClub.com gets them from. We also make them for a few other companies and we brand name them all with the companies own logo. As far as I know we are the only ones making them so no matter where you buy them, they will be the same but with just a different logo on the box. We offer a lifetime warranty on them so all of our distributors will also offer the same warranty.

We designed them to be identical to the factory roof rack cross bars. The only difference is that the side of the factory cross bars says HUMMER on it. Due to trademark reasons we could not put HUMMER on ours. So, instead, we put 6 squares and then include stainless steel letters that fit into the squares.

Re: Roof rack cross bars!

I am a recent purchaser of said cross bars from Ebay. Cosmetically they are fine. For heavy loading they are not. These roof bars have a sort of cam system that locks into place by sliding a lever over. The tolerances on the levers/lcokign mechanism would not allow the roof rails to full lock into the track. I have 2 70 lb kayaks and the rails would shift if I really jammed the brakes on. The solution was to add another set of rail tie downs and place them on either side on the rail. So in reality you have triple redundantcy for keeping heavier loads secure.
