So I put on the Fox racing shocks back during the summer. After a couple of months I noticed the rear passenger side sitting lower. I measured from center of hub to bottom of fender: drivers side rear = 26"; passenger side rear = 24.5". The next time I was at the dealer I had them check it and they see the Fox shocks and immediately blame it on them. I shake my head and leave, planning to swap the stock shocks back on and drive back to them (an hour away) to have them finally find the problem. Well, I just got done swapping them and to my surprise it was the shocks. When I measure it with the stock shocks on I get about 25.5" on both sides. So, the dealers off the hook.

Now, how do I fix the shocks? There is a valve on them where I assume you can adjust the pressure. But what goes in there and what pressure am I looking for? I got them from Samco and I sent him an email last weekend but he has not replied yet. Any thoughts?

And I also compared the overall legnths of the rear stock shocks and the Fox shocks. They are identical, 24" from the center of bolt hole at the bottom to the centerline of the mounting spot at the top.

Sounds like they lost the charge somehow, any ideas how the charge may have been lost? It is very rare that they leak the nitrogen charge, so somebody may have discharged them, mabye during installation.

I guess it's possible, but I would say unlikely. I've sent you a couple emails about the problem, could you reply to them so I can fix this. Then I'll post what the solution was.

I dont go on this site very much, so a pm here is not very helpful. I go on the Pirate4x4 Hummer section, pm me there if you need to get a hold of me. I have also been gone for a couple of weeks in Baja supporting Team Hummer's double winning 1000 victory!!! No problems with Fox shocks there!!

If the Fox shocks are off of the H3, try to compress them, they should take some force to compress, and should extend to full extension all by themselves. I can't think of any other reason that you would get different ride height from the shocks other than a difference in nitrogen pressure in the resivor.

Hey trailer, no answer yet. Sam and I are still talking. He prolly thinks I'm crazy, and I might be, or maybe I just have bad luck. I got my shackles on last weekend and with the stock shocks, everything is even. If I find some free time (and the weather clears up) I'll swap the fox shocks back on and re-measure.

O.K. Good luck with that. If it is something with the shock I think that Sam dude will help you out. He seemed pretty cool when I got my stuff from him.... But.... Now, you have me looking at mine all the time seeing if it is sitting level in the rear.

LOL, that's funny. I can understand his position. He's probably never had a problem with them and here's someone saying they're causing his truck to sit an inch off from side to side.:notallthere: The last pm with him he offered to contact Fox about the warrenty options. I'll wait until I get them on the truck again before I ask him to do that. Maybe replacing the shackles has let something sit better and the problem will go away. Who knows.
