Help with a $465 light bulb

So a couple weeks ago I had navigation put into my my and it works great however when the installer pulled the radio/air conditioning bezel out he somehow knocked out the white illumination from behing the thermostat dial. I went down to Hummer and they told me there is no way to replace the lamp and that I'd have to pay $465 for the entire control module. Does anybody have any technical input on this or where I can get a used module? Not really up for spending $465 on a .20 cent lamp!

My heat - A/C fan went a few months ago. Replaced under warranty, but one of the lights on the dials burned out, either fan speed or vent (air direction). Dealer said same thing. Had to replace the whole thing all new controls etc. Luckily it was under warranty.
Thats a bad design huh?!

ok-as far as i know of there's no secret light bulb plant making one-of -a kind bulbs. can you get your installer to at least remove/disassemble the module so you can get the old bulb out, match it at autozone/oreilly/radio shack and just put it back together/back in?

There is no way the installer burned out one of the lights on the hvac control head. Just coincidence. Like plano said, take the bulb out and try to match it up. I haven't been able to match one up before though.

There is probably a 3-4 digit number on there somewhere indicating size. Take that number to most parts stores and they can match it up.
