Line X'd front grill - $350?
Took the grill off and went down to the closest line x dealer. I was expecting to spend around $80 like everyone else has said they have. They ended up quoting me $250 for the job and then another $100 for the Line x X-tra. What gives? The next closest dealer that deals with the X-tra is around 50 miles away.

...and that is why you are getting such a high quote. I'd suggest calling the other dealer and quoting over the phone. I took mine down and got a quote of around $120, more than others, but not as bad as yours. If you can get a good deal from the other dealer, have them fax/email you the quote and take it to the local Line-X and see if they will price-match. Good luck! |

The guy thinks your H3 cost $60,000 + and you could swing the marked up price.:giggling:

Re: Line X'd front grill - $350?
I got a quote of $150 that I thought was high. I only checked at one place that I happened to drive by. There's enough competition around me I'm sure I could get it lower.

Re: Line X'd front grill - $350?
I had my brush guard, rear bumper guard, and tailight guards all Rhinoed. It ran me right around $300.

Re: Line X'd front grill - $350?
I used the duplicolor sprayon bedliner on my H2. I've used it on the front skid plate, brushguard, grill, side U-steps, taillight guards and roof rails. Worked great. I just prepped by sanding and then wiping off with isopropyl alcohol. I've spent no more than $100 for all pieces combined. I've used about 12 cans on everything. Just something to consider.

Re: Line X'd front grill - $350?
LINE-X Xtra is a product that's made by Dupont only for LINE-X. Xtra prevents fading and loss of gloss and is fortified with Dupont Kevlar for extreme durability. If you get Xtra for color matching, it will contain all the pigments and metallic flakes like your Hummer's paint. If you haven't seen Xtra, you should, it's really nice looking.
When talking do-it-yourself products vs. professional products, your not talking apples to apples. Professional products are WAY more durable and in most cases, look a lot nicer. H2 stuff: Two-tone Xtra on a H2 plate (No fading, no loss of gloss, no rock chips). This H1 had a DIY product in it. We had to strip it out an then apply black LINE-X Xtra. |
