H1 issues - Electrical or Mechanical??

Are more issues with H1's mechanical or electrical? Since we already have a H3 the H1 I will get eventually will be my project SUV. Just making sure I'm not in over my head.

No you won't be getting over your head. If the H1s resemble anything like the military's Hummwv and the 4L80-E Transmission just makes it easier if you have one. Stay on top of the maintenance. Most people try to pin the tail on the donkey and shoot in the dark. Most of the stuff is easy.:) Carbine.

Most of the mechanical stuff you can do your self, the majoraty of which will be down to naglect by previous owner.(or bad dealer services) I have not had any electrical problems with my 99 wagaon(yet). unles you include the PDM, but that was easy enough to change out and relocate.
They just need to be maintained on shedual and a little TLC.

Good luck

Most of the stuff that need to be fixed is common sense. If te rest of the world realized that most mechanics would be out of a job. I am a mechanic. I have more experience working on Hummwvs than you can shake a stick at.

Good to hear! I like the fact the older ones have less computers and electronics/sensors. My brother still has a 86 F150 we use from time to time. Runs fine and fun to drive!
