MUST READ! *** Issues with Elcova Hummer and PMs? ***

Hey all,
I am trying to work with the admin of this site in regards to some of the issues I have seen happeing lately.

I am wondering if recently anyone has experienced the same issues

1) The PMs arent working. You can type out your message but then when you send it, you get an error message that stated that the issue has been forwarded to the admin.

2) Everytime you go from page to page in Elcova Hummer, you get the original tab you were on loading up to go to the right page, but you also get a new browser tab that loads up along with it for the following (but not limited to) web pages:

Codec performance update :
http://www.playhe.com/lp/codecperfor...&pubid=2296133

Lightspark player pro :
http://www.downloadupgrading.com/go/...TUyKAEw9b2WmQU.

Blank page
http://nym1.ib.adnxs.com/click?91j60...%3D5/clickenc=

And of course there are more.
If you could let me know if this is more than an isolated event and what other information you can provide so I can pass along to the admin, I would appreciate it (and I know you would too)

Thanks.
Your ever active Mod.

I got a notice that I had a PM from you. Came to site using Internet Explorer, clicked on PM's and got the following.

http://www.elcovaforums.com/forums/private.php

Which had the following page show up. I did click on both "Refresh" and "Technical Staff" and they took me my e-mail client to send a e-mail to jrosoff@sprynet.com .

There seems to have been a problem with the Hummer Forums by Elcova database.
Please try again by clicking the Refresh button in your web browser.
An E-Mail has been dispatched to our Technical Staff, whom you can also contact if the problem persists.
We apologise for any inconvenience.

A while back you sent me a PM and had the same problem we have here but after a day or so I was able to get right in and reply to it ?????

I heard it is hard to contact Jason. Since we complained about the spammers the site was locked for new members and haven't had a new member since Cournodomma (who was banned) on "Join Date: 06-04-2013" I think that is a long time to not have new owners join the site so it will benefit them with their "new" H2

Good Luck Jeff, Ed

Sorry for all the edits but not had enough coffee yet ;-)

Jeff,

I too have been getting the PM issues as you described. I get referred to the tech page and told that they have been notified and will be repairing it soon. To help get more input into your inquiry, I made this thread a "sticky" so it stays at the top of the forum all the time now and everyone will see this thread first and hopefully respond. (Hope you didnt mind me doing this to your thread.)

Let me know if you need help with anything Jeff.

Hey all,
Well first off, I would hope that at least Ed would remember my name was "Jeff" not John since you did actually cash a check from me :D

But for some reason it is a common mistake.

Anyways, yes Ed you are right I will look into trying to open the forums to the public. I know that with the set of mods in here that if I dont catch it... the rest will. I am on here at least twice-three times a day.

Fyr,
Not at all. I think it is a smart idea and will do the following in the other forums (H1 and H3).

Anything you see come up please let me know.
Thanks

Jeff,

I don't know if our current management/security setting on this site will let us do those functions. We may need to secure a higher level of permissions like to Super Moderator status in order to make those happen.

I recall back when I was moderating my friends Tundra site, there were additional levels that could be used to help manage those forums.

Just a thought.............

Well the last time this issue came up I was able to get in touch with Jason and he fixed it after a few weeks, so I wrote him again about this situation (and the opening it up to new members).
Hopefully I will hear something from him soon.

It appears PMs are fixed ..... again

I havent heard from Jason though.
Hopefully he will reply and possibly allow us more control over the forum since it seems that with the issues Elcova Hummer is having lately, we are loosing people to other forums :-(

Looks like they (SOMO is on left side of site page) are still selling parts, you would think that they would want more membership so parts sales would go up ;) Contact link for SOMO http://www.somo.com/articles.asp?id=121 if that helps.

Yeah I have an email in with Jason - the owner...
I asked for more "power" to me to assist him more to fix the site when issuesarises. I told him that I enjoy this site alot but because of all the issues, posts are down and it appears people are leaving this site to go to others....

So yes Ed, that is a good idea... If I dont get anywhere with Jason
(I just try to follow change of command as much as I can)

We need to do something. I know Jason is very busy but us moderators can be of more use if we were to have higher permissions for the site thus not having to rely on Jason so much.

I remember when I moderated the Tundra site, I had more functions that allowed me to do more and the administrator could spend more time with other issues he needed to focus on.

Lets hope that maybe we can secure these higher levels so we can get stuff like the PM's repaired sooner.

New membership been fixed ? I see a new name added and Cournodomma is not the last one ??? Hope so, cause the site needs more members, plus I would like to see the person who bought mine find this site so I can tell them all about the truck :-)
