H3T...does it have ?

OK.

I haven't seen a real life H3T except in pictures so I have a few questions...

It appears in a picture on this site that the rear seats fold flat...is that correct ? and if so what is the height from the folded seat to the headliner and what is the height from the top of the folded seat to the door opening ?

They talk about a BED EXTENDER...how long is it and is there any type of a door or rail or stop at the outside end ? and does anyone know the price of the extender ?

From a picture on the site I see little bumps in the bed which I take to be wheel wells but the specs say there is (i think) 50" width at the floor, is this from side to side on top of the wells or at the floor itself ?

When you add the TAKE OFF Storage Boxes what is the width between them

RYD,
Are you planning on selling plywood?

Hurricane planning with the H3T.

There is no 007 ejection seat for passengers on the T:beerchug:

Re: H3T...does it have ?

The only thing I can answer is the rear seats do fold flat. I will try to take some measurements later to answer your question. I will have to measure the width of the bed as well. I haven't actually seen any of the accessories as the dealer didn't have any when I picked up the truck. They didn't have a book or anything either.

I can't find any prices on any accessories for it yet but here are the best pics that I could find to illustrate what you are saying:

The "bumps" as you call them, look minimal at best. Again, not sure of any true measurements. Will have to wait on an actual owner for that, or wait until I go to the dealer tomorrow and take measurements myself:

And a pic of the folded seat for you:

Thanks RHill !!!

Re: H3T...does it have ?

Took some quick measurements:

50" total width, 44" inbetween the little bumps in bed.
30.5 from the seat (folded down) to the headliner
25.5 from the seat (folded down) to the top of the door.

Since the headrest do not fold down or come off on the rear seat the front seat can't be tilted back too far or the seats will not fold down.

Re: H3T...does it have ?

Thanks NIP...that was my next question "do the rear headrests come off" which you answered...

The H-3 series is in its 4th year and they still haven't corrected that design mistake !!!

Re: H3T...does it have ?

Yep, the bed is 50" above the small wheel wells and 44" in between them. I am driving one as a loaner right now while my h2 is at dealer. This one has front/rear lockers and CI front diff. It is a dog and gets high centered really easy due to it's long wheelbase and the spare under the bed. If it weren't for BOTH lockers, I would have been stuck on some very easy trails! With that being said, it is the 2nd most capable truck I have driven. I dont theink the GM-Hummer Engineers drove the Dodge Powerwagon when they came up with this H3T. The Dodge Powerwagon will out do the H3T without question.

I tried to fold down rear seats but could not see how to do it. Any ideas?

Re: H3T...does it have ?

There is a little loop next to the seat that you pull to release them. It is near the top. As far as being a dog, I agree, makes my work car (05 cavalier) feel like a race car now! I wanted the 5 speed or I would've opted for the V8. Don't have to worry about getting any tickets though!

Re: H3T...does it have ?

It can't be any worse then our 3's. Mine is anything but a dog...

Of course if and when I get an H3T it will be an Alpha with Off road pkg.

Re: H3T...does it have ?

It's not worse, raced the wife and beat her in a race but she is now claiming she wasn't trying. I drove the H3T Alpha before ordering and it was impressive but not enough for me to justify the cost. I was more than happy with the I5 in the H3 so it wasn't too tough of a decision.

Re: H3T...does it have ?

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply motor was a dog. I meant it was a dog (maybe should have said sled) offroad. The wheelbase is a bit long, but not any worse than other long trucks

Re: H3T...does it have ?

Sorry Tomp, I don't buy it. Nobody in their right mind would put a PowerWagon over an H3T in real offroad situations.

Lets look at some basic stats here and compare, when it comes down to it, the angles of a vehicle are more important than anything else, because if you can't get your tires on the obstacle, you're NOT getting over it.

Wheelbase:

H3T: 134.3

PowerWagon: 140.5

Ground Clearance:

H3T: 10.2

PowerWagon: 8.3

Approach Angle:

H3T: Listed at 38.7, but real number is 45 Degrees (The HUMMER site lists wrong numbers on both the H3 and H3T, they don't measure from the front shackles being flipped upward and they give some "lawyer leeway")

PowerWagon: 35

Departure Angle:

H3T: listed at 30, but again in reality it's 36 Degrees

PowerWagon: 26.5

The Power Wagon can only run a max sized tire of 33, the H3T can run 35's stock. Putting 35's on the H3T will bump that approach angle to around 53 degrees, the minimum ground clearance to well over 11 inches.

The H3T Designers knew what they were doing, and the H3T will outrun a Powerwagon, just put a tall obstacle with a steep angle in front of it and the PowerWagon is dead.

Re: H3T...does it have ?

Uh huh, a PowerWagon is superior... :notallthere:
