I dont know what the laws are in Canada. Here in USA some states you cant have the wheel sticking out beyond the fender without fender flares to cover them.Something to think about.

Webb70 08-26-2005 09:51 AM

Nice looking truck!

What exhaust system is that and how does it sound?

Yellowxdude 08-26-2005 04:08 PM

Nice pics!! Do you have any side and front shots?

VTSTOMPER 08-26-2005 05:17 PM

More please! Looks good!

Arizona Hummerboy 08-26-2005 05:22 PM

Holy ****!!!! they look SWEET!!!!!! on the H3. How to they ride?

VTSTOMPER 08-26-2005 05:38 PM

You might want to do a brake upgrade with those babies too!

Vegas-H3 08-26-2005 06:49 PM

Agreed - looks great! Any side pictures? Are those MotoMetal 951's by chance?

Rhyno 08-26-2005 07:28 PM

Thanks for the complements!!!! The ride is a little worse than stock, more road and tire noise but it handles a little better cause of the wider stance.
First Hummer, you r right about the tire sticking out. In canada I think the tire can only stick out a quater of a inch. My tires stick out about 5".
VTSTOMPER, I don't need to do a brake upgrade because they are the same size as stock tire's and they are not that much heavier.
Vegas H3, They are MotoMetal 951's.

Too wide of an offset for me. That thingies will cover your ride with mud in offroad situations all over.

I used to love that in my Jeep, but don't think I will in my Hummer.

They are impressive looking tires. As for states and fender flares, most require them, but most do not enforce the law. But it gives them the right to stop you at anytime.
My biggest concern would be, will the offset cause premature bearing wear?

Rhyno 08-30-2005 03:46 AM

DRTYFN 08-30-2005 04:38 AM

Rhyno meet rubbing. Rubbing, Rhyno.

Rhyno 08-30-2005 05:28 PM

DRTYFN, They don't rub at all.

Vegas-H3 08-30-2005 08:21 PM

Looks Great! Very Agressive....thanks for the other pics.

RazM 08-30-2005 10:11 PM

if you don't mind my asking, how much did the rims+tires end up costing?

How can they not? I can almost get the stocks to stuff and rub. GREAT if they don't. You may want to clearbra the hell out of those fender flares though.

Rhyno 09-01-2005 05:44 PM

The tires and wheels cost about $4000 canadaian mounted and installed.

I think I'm going to put the 3M clear film on the sides of the fenders so I don't get alot of rock chips.

It also get's dirty way faster with this much offset but it's worth it!!

Fubar 09-04-2005 03:32 PM

Like the rims and tires but it just looks odd on the H3. But to each there own, beauty is in the eyes of the...

Webb70 09-05-2005 10:55 PM

Hey Rhyno, what exhaust system is that?

Rhyno 09-05-2005 11:46 PM

The exhaust is SMA. It sounds pretty good, low growl at idle. It's not loud enough 4 me tho.

usetosellhummer 09-06-2005 11:03 AM

That is the best wheel tire set up yet for H3

kacyk 09-12-2005 03:43 AM

I gave back Discount Tire my Mud Grapplers for Terra Grapplers. The tire chatter was overwhelming but I do miss that tread design!

I have Toyo Open Country M/T's now and man, no noise!

kacyk 09-12-2005 03:43 AM

BTW Rhyno, that setup looks hot!

nickelsack 09-12-2005 05:28 PM

what is the offset on those rims?

Rhyno 09-13-2005 03:33 AM

I beleave the offset is +12 but I'm not sure. Thanks 4 the complement Kacyk!!! The more I drive my truck the more I like it. KNow I just need a supercharger and I will be VERY Happy!!!

bparker 09-16-2005 04:13 AM

I think it looks sick man! Great job!

kacyk 09-24-2005 12:55 AM

Rhyno,

The local tire shop put on my 35's and they fit, albeit extremely tight. I ordered the rims and they should arrive in a week. The tire will stick out a bit as in your case as well. I'm contemplating getting mud guards but I'd rather not if I can avoid it.

I'm concerned that I'm going to kick up rocks all the time and have to paint the rear fender flare all the time. The 35's stuck out on our H2's but then it didn't have the fender flares either.

What's your experience? Shoudl I get the mud guards? Also, even if I did get the guards it wouldn't totally cover the width of the tire anyway.

Rhyno 09-24-2005 10:10 PM

Kacyk, I havn't had any rocks kick up at my fenders because are streets are pretty clean but I will put my stock tires back on 4 winter. When i drive in the rain my truck gets very dirty cause of all the spray from the tires. Mud guards would help a bit, but since they don't cover the whole tire you will still get rocks kicking up. Just get the 3m film and put it on your fenders. If you go on dirt roads alot you fenders will probably get beat up pretty quick.

kimotran 10-22-2005 06:07 PM

Me likey!!

Steve - SanJose 10-22-2005 06:48 PM

Ryno - please tell us more about your dual exhaust system. Looks sharp.

. who is the manufacturer?
. any noticeable power increase?
. how's it sound?
. does it drone at freeway speeds?
. overall are you pleased with the system?

thanks,
Steve

Klint 10-23-2005 07:11 PM

What did it do to your MPG?

Rhyno 10-24-2005 12:43 AM

The catback exhaust is made by SMA. It sounds good, deeper than stock, nice sound at idle. For the price I wouldn't do it again, I would just go to a muffler shop and have a new muffler installed. It drone's a little at freeway speed and has NO noticeable power increase.

MPG is the same with the tires and the exhaust.

Steve - SanJose 10-25-2005 03:42 PM

Rhyno,

Thanks for your useful feedback on the SMA catback exhaust system. I'll put out the same questions about the SMA system as a topic to get feedback from others also.

I drove an H3 at the dealer with the SMA exhaust system and a cold air intake. Too noisy and not very pleasant sounding. I think most of the noise was from the intake setup.

Enjoy your yellow H3.

Steve
