Re: Spare tire removal options?

I wanted to remove my tire but be able to put it back on quickly for wheeling and other situations... What I did was just remove the upper half. Then I Bought a piece of 1.5"x3/16" steel bar, made a couple bends, drilled a couple holes. Then loosened the hook/hinge assembly, removed the upper left bolt and slipped the 3/16 bar behind. passed the bolt back thru hole drilled in plate and tighted.

lights... I cut the wires added quick connects. bought some license plate lights at the auto store added quick connects.
I can put the tire back on with out removing my plate setup, you cant read the plate but you dont have to remove it :beerchug:

QUESTION: What's on your tailgate? Bed liner?
