I just bought a 96 turbo but went to change the oil and it took 4 quarts and says its full. the manual says the case takes 7 with out the filter change? The orig orner did say the dealer changed the engine out in 1998. Does the 98 take less oil or could it have the wrong dip stick. I took 7 quarts out.

7 Quarts is the actual use if you don't change the filter. 8 quarts if you do.

This is per the 1997 and 1998 Service Manual.
