Just imagine it with rear seats. It already has side vents and a snorkle. Awesome. I think I saw one for sale here in the truck trader. Will have to check it out again.

DiscoDancingRover 03-11-2004 01:56 PM

I want one!

Uni's are sweet. You can find some great reconditioned ones out there.

I'd pick up a crewcab like this. I'd have to paint it camo.

I think they are sold through Freightliner dealers in the US. Does anybody know what a "top of the line" Unimog goes for. I might want one of these for the ranch instead of getting a decommissioned army 2.5 ton.

I'm thinking they are somewhere in the $30K-$40K range without any implements added, but I'm not sure.

I think this just looks like our Kawasaki Mule on steroids

...and put a Avery quick set blind in the back!

...it's allready got a snorkel...

...if it was Advantage Wetlands camo...

...it would make the PERFECT duck slaying machine!

PARAGON 03-18-2004 02:20 AM

I like the way you think. Do you guys get a good duck season like we do. The uni would be much better than an argo or boat to take into a brake somewhere. Pull it into a woodline pointing the front into the wind and hunt from the bed. Have hulio put out and pick up the spread. Have a simple little ramp for the dog to climb back in. I beginning to think this hunt would be waderless, why would you need waders. Man, I am making my self drool. That would be some classy duck hunting.

Sorry, went a little too far with those dreams, but it does want me to track down some land in the delta if I get one of these unis.

(Ducks Unlimited Great Outdoors Festival)
and there would be stiffies all-around.......lol

as far as this past year's hunting down here in SC.....

me and the boy did allright...(for SC)

LOL.....he must know whos been looking at it!

PARAGON 03-20-2004 03:52 AM

But I think I want a new one. There is a dealer about 3 hours from me. I might have to visit them sometime in the near future.

To the best of my knowledge we don't use any Unimogs in the Army. Were you thinking of the FTMV's? They may look like Unimogs but they're actualy made in America by Stewart and Stevenson.

I don't know about before, but several hundred were purchased for the US Army in the early '90s. And I think I remember seeing some with the attachments. The government a pros at getting different manufactures to produce a very similar vehicle.

There is a unimog plant in the US I believe

Did you figure this out all on your own or did you have help?

PARAGON 03-29-2004 01:44 AM

Who yanked your chain, you POS atheist. I would say you were one of Detonate's buddies but to be a Marine one has to first believe in God.

Crawl back into your "Hummer Team" wannabe hole and let us adults carry on.

SJ 03-29-2004 08:04 PM

Unimogs are mostly for industrial and commercial use. As others mentioned, the military and emergency services also have their trim levels of the Mog.

I see them all over Europe, but you can also buy a Russian KAMA3 [Kamaz] or Czech Zetor tractor-truck for less money; none of which are very practical for personal use unless you own a farm.

cyberaxe 06-28-2004 08:32 PM

Found a kewl MOG.........
.....wonder what it would look like with some bling-bling?!?!?

JUST KIDDING!

We a Unimog that we picked up at auction from the forest service in Idaho. It has a 12 foot blade for plowing, and a snowblower that my H2 would fit inside. We were blowing snow out of our driveway and figured it was flying about 50yards off the road. It has a dump bed and more pto drives on the back. It's the coolest thing I've ever seen. Too bad I've never been in the driver seat. I do have a pic with the snowblower on it, but I don't know how to add them to the internet.

Ok, you're a little slow on the uptake, aren't ya?
How old is this thread?

I haven't seen your rig at your work lately. Whenever I drive by on 217 I try to get over in the right lane so I can peek down there.

We're going to SandLake on Sunday(16th). PM me for details.

Dug 02-12-2005 03:50 AM

Paragon- My local freightliner truck dealership sells them . My saleman Jonathan kotska says he sold on recently . A unimog with no attachments is about $90,000. The one he sold also came with a 12' snowblower that was $26,000.
There a little pricy. But you get what you pay for.

PARAGON 02-17-2005 02:50 AM

I can't deal with the local freightliner dealer here, bad blood there. But I had thought about checking into one in Memphis, TN but I don't have a duck lease right now and certainly don't have $100K to spend on one. That will have to push down the want list for awhile for me now.

Thanks for the info though.
