Rear Vision Camera System into a 2004

Hi have a 2004 H2 with a stock (non-touch) Navigation Radio. Do you think there will be any issues with installing the current model Rear Vision Camera System into my wife's 2004 H2?

Seems pretty straight forward and since it doesn't have to integrate with the stock stereo I don't see any issues. But what about the bumper mount and rear view mirror? Have the rear bumpers or rear view mirrors changed since 2004?

I ask the same thing aday ago
I don't think it should be a problem I have an pioneer avic z2 in my 07 and was told that the rear camera won't have nothing to do with it (had a back up camera that came on on the Nav.) till I found the rear camera the only thing I was worrie bout was the bumper

I also found on ebay someone selling a factory bumper that has the holes to accommodate the cam

However, any good shop should have the tools to cut through the metal. After reading how the factory nav screen works, it's pretty cool as it automatically comes out and retracts when in and out of reverse. Seems to me that the only wiring consideration other than power is to the reverse wire.

Has anyone done this yet?

Haven't done this yet, but thats next. Doesn't look too bad. 3 bumper holes, it comes with the template, should be ez to drill. The camera itself gets its power from a direct plug in connection with a reverse light. The only problem I see is the connection from the mirror to the camera itself. Just alot of wire to run and feed up to the new mirror. I actually have the instal instructions for the setup, and like the factory DVD headrest instructions, they're pretty close to useless if your not knowledgeable about wiring diagrams etc. But, it does look like a good project to tackle!:D

I did purchase the item. In case it does not come with instructions, do you mind emailing them to me? I am having a stereo shop install it. I'll let you know how it goes.

No problem. Let me know how it goes and what they charged ya if thats ok. Still thinkin I may pick one up and give it a shot at installin' it myself. First I have to do the GM Performance exhaust I picked up! That oughta be fun!:fdance:

Hey EZMONEY,

Did you get my PM? I have an appointment for install tomorrow and was wondering if you could scan and email me that template.

You guys know they make a cam that fits in the middle upper running light... nothing to cut and give you a better view than straight bumper shot. Dont remember who makes it, they pop up pretty regulary on ebay.
