Our last topic on this had some, while driving to work today, I came up with an answer to the storage/console problem: While I think the shifter is cool, since it serves no purpose other than shifting (no overdrive shutoff switch etc.) I'd rather have a column shifter and have the console available for Big Gulps, a ham radio etc.

Something that always struck me as odd, and a detractor from an otherwise really nice dash is the hazard switch on steroids! I could do without that big arsed thing on there, it could be on the column like every other GM product. I'm really curious as to who approved that honkin' big Fisher Price doodad? Do they have awards for the largest and most centrally located hazard switch?!?

No column shifter for me. Too "minivan-like". No way.

I do wish it had a overdrive off button on the shifter. My last Toyota had one and I used it frequently.

I'd go with an "overdrive" button on the stick (add a gear or two to the transmission while you're at it).

But a big fat NO WAY to the column mounted shifter. Not NO but HELL NO

Just put some paddel shifters on the steering wheel and call it good

I definetely agree that the H3 needs more storage compartments. Has anyone seen the inside of the Honda Ridgeline? They really went nuts with storage.

They got the auto down okay for the driver but, would it be too much if they modeled the power windows after the H2... one button they all go down or come up.

I like where they placed the hazzard. I don't get why some vehicles hide it in hard to reach areas.

If you didnt get the lux package or the monsoon stereo you have a extra compartment on the left side in the back .It comes in handy. You can get alot of stuff in the jack compartment also.

Wish they could get the rear seats to lie flat.

Got any pics of how it turned out?

Really, what's wrong with a column shifter for an auto?

OK, how about if they canted the shifter handle about 30 degrees to the right to fit a natural hand position. Ain't these guys ever seen a properly built hot rod?

Two words...Turbo Diesel.

'Nuff said.
