I was looking at getting these has anyone purchased them and done the install.

I was under the truck tonight and the tranny belly is wide open and the xfer case has a shield but not a very good one.

Thanks UNOMYFLO

We have had them since day 1. And it's a good thing we did too. The first tie out we were climbing a hill out on a trail called RED CONE. It was all basketball size and smaller rocks. We stood one up on the UC protection and the truck piveted (sp) over it. That protection is strong. The installation for the rock rails requires an air ratchet. Th eUC protection should take about 30 minutes once you figure out where everything goes.

can u take some pics of the parts installed?

thnx

Yeah, I'll crawl under there this weekend and get some closeup's.

I just ordered my UC protection from my dealer yesterday. I think its a darn good investment if you're doing much off-roading around rocks. I took a good look under my rig and thought it sure needed a little extra protection, I didn't want to push my luck any further.

Hopefully they'll be in and installed in a week or so.

It can be done with hand tools.

Thanks for all the replys

I think these H3's are the sh*t...plus to be able to get oem upgrades like this tells you the HUMMER and GM are on the ball. I keep looking on the road at suv's that are supposedly in our class and I just dont see the comparisson not even close in quality and features and price not even close...not to mention the pimp factor.

I think I am gonna score a set of the skids.

I have looked around a lot and as I know the dealer can get you anything they are usually top dollar which is fine if you want them to do the install but I do all of my own work...that said the best price I have seen is at this site. I placed an order with them before for the mud flaps (which are a must with the adventure package)(the larger tires spit crap all up the side of the truck...no longer with the flaps and they fit like a glove and match the other smoked plastic like a T) and the rear sun shade the rubber rear mat and the stainless bumper letters, which by the way kick the ass of the ones on ebay, the fit is much better and they are twice as thick...I pulled the old ones off and threw them in the trash..

This is the link for the skids and damn near everything oem and way cheaper then the dealer.

looks like the dual plate kit is a part number is: 12498474 (tranny and tcase)

and the hardware kit for the install is:88967831

total of 334.00 and change plus like 30 in ship great insurance and you know the stuff will fit and I would rather get hi centered on the skids then the tcase or tranny.

I was under her last night and I am amazed at the parts on this rig.... the poly bump stops, the stoutness and everything that is aluminum...even the motor's oil pan is cast aluminum...very cool.

yeah post the pics of the skids installed I would love to see them

Thanks again

H2parts.com has the underbody protection kit for $279.00; rocker panel protectors are $475.00.
This is Lynch Hummer's website and so far from my experience, they are great.

tmiller 11-16-2005 11:41 PM

I just put on the rocker protection and also the underbody. They seem pretty heavy duty, and not very hard to put on.I also made brackets and reinstalled my orig. tube steps next to the rocker guards it works and looks good , only 4 bolts and they can be removed . Now my wife is happy again.( shes small and couldnt get into it easy without the steps.) Wait till she sees the PJ Tires that just came in! Awsome
