where should i go? im thinking 38, will that require a gear swap for mostly highway driving? thanks

ShaggyZR2 03-07-2006 01:42 AM

I'm a 3 inch rockstar, if that helps.

That's a generous estimate.

Good luck on those tires fitting without a lift.

CO Hummer 03-08-2006 12:38 AM

I put on 41s without a lift. NO problem.

CO Hummer 03-08-2006 12:39 AM

Of course..I can only drive straight. But it looks COOOOOL.

mplv 03-08-2006 01:25 AM

i was planning on a 6 inch fabtech but not right away, if 38s wont work without a lift what will?

dont listen to any of these pricks, u can squeeze 37x13.50 r18 on, thats what i did- i cranked the torsion bars up all the way i just did it today as a matter of fact, before that they rubbed pretty bad on the right side and use a heat gun to push the wheel liners away from the tires they still rub a tiny bit but not anywhere near as bad as before, for 38 u most certainly need a lift and a 6inch fabtech is the best bet, if i ever lift i will definately do the gear thing and prolly supercahrge as well , but that is a dream right now, there are plenty of guys who run the lift with 38 in tires w/ no gear difference as for the best place to buy , just do a saerch bro

STFU. Don't be giving out any advice until you've earned some credit around here. Cranking the torsion bars all the way up is only asking for front drivetrain bind, so please report back to us in about 6 months when you are replacing your halfshafts or CVs or front driveshaft.

Forcing something that doesn't fit is just stupid. I have 37x12.5x17 and they rub on the sway bar and the frame. More rub and you will be binding the tires up and tearing up the steering, for what, to be a dumbass.

Dickhead.

37 will work without a lift

I think you should do the lift first... I have 22 inch RS with 40 inch tires... The rims were like 500 and the tires 850

You're an idiot.

mplv 03-08-2006 10:32 AM

damn 850 for tires is nuts, my rear viper tires cost that for a pair. of course they only last 5k miles but i may have had something to do with that.

how much more are the 40s than the 37s and what width can i go with?

mplv 03-08-2006 10:33 AM

by the way albie your truck is SICK.

MONSTERMATT 03-08-2006 01:11 PM
