So I picked up my H2 from the dealer after being serviced for a blown power steering pump.
He tells me that my 37 inch tires are the cause of blowing this pump. ![]() ![]() |

Interesting situation - Since we have many rig's with 37's on them, we should have some answers. I am waiting still to put 37's on, but keeping hearing these minor issues - should you stay with stock tires?

It's easy for the dealer and mechanic to blame the tires since there're not stock. I've had 37's on and off several times with no PS pump problems..at least not yet. |
Sounds like the dealer doesn't know what they're talking about....Which dealer did you go to?

Get use to it. A dealer told me that my tinted windows caused my power window motor to fail on my wifes tahoe. I don't understand dealership mentality. They get paid $60 plus and hour to work on your truck and nada to tell you that there is nothing wrong. Dan from Alabama ps. A manufacturer can not tell you what size tires you must run. |
I Do Not Believe Tire Size At 37" Would Cause A Failure With Your Pump, But The Manufacturer Can Deny Warranty Whenever The Truck Has Been Modified In Any Way From Factory Settings, If I Was Working On The Truck In Question, No Questions, Replace The Pump Through Warranty. Not My Call At All Dealerships.
