I bought my H3 a few weeks back using GMID. Someone in the group mentioned that I paid higher than I should have. I just took a look at my invoice and it says Spiff-o-meter cash Included. I remember asking him and he just shrugged it off. Anyone know exactly what that is? Just curious?

cmeinck,

What options did you get and I will tell you the GMID price...

It is around 1% below invoice...

Did you log into gmbuyer.com and get the GMID sticker for the actual vehicle you purchased or did you 'trust' the dealer?

cmeinck 10-14-2005 01:48 PM

Actually, most of those I added. My H3 was Lux package w/ Automatic, Power Sunroof, Chrome appearance package. It came with Dealer installed Chrome Tubular Assist Steps and Black Wrap Around Brush Guard.

'Spiff o meter' was basically a $1000 rebate the dealers could put on 20% of their inventory. The dealers had to choose the vehicles by a certain date. Once the deadline passed, GM would choose the cars FOR THEM.

You got lucky... good for you, buddy!
(it always pays to take delivery out of dealer stock.)

cmeinck 10-14-2005 05:39 PM

Personally, I don't think I benefited from the "spiff o meter". I paid roughly $34k for my truck. MSRP was $35915 plus $1295 in dealer installed accessories. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with the deal I got, but still think I should have done better.

I don't know exactly but I've bought my last 2 vehicles with the GMS? GMID? discount. In '99 with the Suburban it was roughly 2-3% off dealer invoice. The '06 H3 I just bought was closer to 1-2% off dealer invoice...about $4k off MSRP.<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">Originally posted by cmeinck:

cmeinck,

The GMID discount is 2% below invoice for the 2006 H3 (this includes any dealer added accesories that are not aftermarket). Just look at edmunds invoice cost and subtract 2%.

trading13 10-14-2005 06:58 PM

My MSRP was 37050 and my actual with Gmid and taxes is quoted at 32915

cmeinck 10-14-2005 07:10 PM

Well, I according to the last post I was hosed. I wasn't able to add the Chrome Tubular steps or Black Brush guard to Edmunds. However, I calculated the invoice to be 32,778. The other opions are $1295 MSRP + destination charge of $595).

I thought that dealers couldn't mess with the GMID?

MSRP (with dealer installed options) $37210
Price with tax, inspection/title/license fees was $37083.

For those who have seen the movie Die Hard, "How ya feelin' in there? Pretty f'in unappreciated Al".

Bling 10-14-2005 09:02 PM

Nah - you live in NY and I am sure the tax rate is pretty high. Trading must live in a tax free car state.

trading13 10-14-2005 10:53 PM

Damnit I thought that sounded too good. My original quoted price when I ordered was 32515 and the "final price" my dealer gave me this week was 32915. Hell I dunno how much I'm paying. I'll let you know this week when I pick it up. My salesguy told me they couldn't mess with GMID and has been willing to break down his numbers from invoice with the numbers I expected from edmunds. This is his first GMID, I'm not sure he knows how much I'm paying.

Bling 10-14-2005 11:24 PM

trading,

If you have the GMID you can log into gmbuypower.com and see the EXACT GMID sticker (just like the window sticker) for the vehicle since it will be under the dealers name. If you can't I can look it up for you.

Bling 10-14-2005 11:26 PM

If anyone is looking for a GMID price, I can look it up. Need color, delear name/location, and last 4 digits of VIN.

trading13 10-15-2005 02:33 AM

where would I look up this info on gmbuypower? I don't see buttons/links for that.

f5fstop 10-15-2005 10:26 AM

unless GM has drastically changed their pricing strategies, GMID is not 2% below invoice, since GMS is 2% below invoice. GMID is supplier discount. my GMS on the h3 was 2% below invoice and GMS is a better discount than GMID, since GMS is actually for employees.
according to the sheet i just pulled up on GM's system (and not GM buypower or Edmunds), GMS (employee discount is 12.5% (+/-.5%), GMID is 8% (+/- .5%)and invoice is 10% (+/- .5%).

This correlates with my invoice on my H3.
Edmunds is noted to have some information that is incorrect.

Hummer Guy 10-15-2005 03:46 PM

The dealer may have tried to get you on the accessories that weren't on the truck from the factory...since those are not included under GMID...

HoKC 10-15-2005 04:59 PM

Send me the last 8 on your VIN# and I will get your exact GMID price.

yat74 10-16-2005 03:15 AM

Hey HoKC, can you get the GMID price of my vehicle. I have the vin#. I used a GMS here in PA and I think I may have gotten hosed. My quote was for $39545 and got only $3475 off with GMS.
