For the members here who work at the assembly plant in LA or are really in the know.....

We have a build date of the first week on Dec. for our H3. One of the opts we are getting is the factory Nav. Have any H3's been built since this option finally became available about a month ago or so. thanks

From what I heard the Navs are on hold because of some supplier problem.
I ordered my H3 on Sept. 28 and still do not have a build date!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How can I get it??? I called Hummer Customer service and they said that they don't give out build dates. My dealer said that he still doesn't have one. What's wrong here?

I had a build date and than it was put on hold due to the NAV issues. Someone was saying the H2 NAV can be installed inthe H3. I may opt for that if it isn't too hard with XM.

We're about to put some H2 Navs into some H3s. The nav trucks won't be here for awhile. I know my manager was told to edit his order and switch the radio by GM, they didn't even say it would be delayed, they just flat out told him to change it.

So, do we know if you can take a H2 NAV w/ XM and throw it into the same plugs on an H3? F5Fstop I sure would know if anyone will?

I am also curious as to what this would require to hook up to a factoey moonsoon system with XM.

We'll do it in the next couple of days, I'll keep you guys posted.

GM likes to keep common plugs on the radios, cuts down on costs from all the suppliers. So, conceivably it should work. What would have to be answered is:
Can the BCM be programmed to recognize this radio (VIN recognition, XM receiver recognition, etc).
Warranty on the radio will be voided by GM since this is a non-authorized radio install. Same thing would happen with any aftermarket radio install.

There are a few Hummer H2 nav's for sale on ebay. Some of them do say that it would require the dealer to program it with the tech 2 scan tool. What exactly is this tool? I have heard it mentioned a few times. Thanjs

The Tech 2 is the main diagnostic tool for GM vehicles. It is used to pull codes, perform screen snaps of parameters, and to download calibrations and to program components.
With most of the computers running on the vehicle's internal LAN, all the computers talk to each other, and have to be able to recognize each other on the network, therefore, the ID numbers of components such as PCM, BCM, Radio, SDM, XM Receiver, VCIM (fancy name for OnStar), etc., have to be programmed into the system. (That was a simple explanation of the GMLAN system.)

Thanks f5fstop!

Anyone know if the nav unit is available at the dealership to upgrade to?
