Now that Sirius has Howard and XM lost Nascar it sounds like XM is on the ropes. I was listening to Stern and a caller mentioned that when he called XM to cancel his subscription that XM offered him $3 a month if he wouldn't cancel and then I talked to a guy at work who just called to cancel his XM subscription and he said they asked him how much he was willing to pay and he said "a few dollers" and they offered him $3 a month too.

That's dirt cheap!

Thanks for the info...my wife's 3 months free from the stealership is up & XM contacted her today with a $4.95 a month special. Guess I need to negotiate

westhillsat 03-17-2006 01:32 AM

I just paid them for several months, maybe will have to call and say I want to cancel....

NEOCON1 03-17-2006 01:36 AM

XM sucks. I have had Sirius in the cars for a few years now, and it has gotten better and better every month. I had a loaner with XM in it a week or two ago, and it wasn't anywhere near as good. The channel line up, the programming, the DJs, everything. Go Sirius.

Ipedog 03-17-2006 01:23 PM

Looks like it time for a negotiation.

mudderducker 03-17-2006 10:54 PM

I asked myself the same question, "what would I pay for this sh!t?" and came up with the same answer "maybe a few dollars, not a dime over $5"

they must have been reading my mind. no comparison with sirius

how can I get sirius on my stock radio? what parts are needed?

I agree, XM sucks total ass! XM has nothing unless you’re a member of the O&A Army or you want to listen to Oprah once a week. XM doesn't even have 100% commercial free music anymore and their sports programming is nonexistent. Sirius has the NFL, NHL, NBA and just signed NASCAR to a five year deal. XM has MLB and PGA, the two most boring sports in the world, I mean honestly who the fuk listens to golf on the radio?

Just a note for anyone who has Sirius, they just added the Playboy channel for no additional charge you just have call to have it activated or do it on-line at http://www.sirius.com/

Isn't listening to the Playboy channel like listening to golf...

I guess if listening to old guys in bad pants knock their balls around turns you on then it could be the same. If given the choice I prefer listening to hot porn chicks lick each others pussies live on air but what ever turns you on.

ok, I need help, my free subscription is up and they claim $12 is the best deal they can do unless I hae a family membership with two or more radios. How so you get these deals. I would be willing to pay $4.95

Probably going to be a little worse than expected.

I for one love XM. I have it in 5 vehicles and at 6 bucks or so a month it seems fair to me. I struggled through the tough times with them from the beginning and they seem to be very solid now. As for not having commercial free music I don't know what you are talking about death valley, I dont hear any.

You're kidding right?

Look a little bit deeper? If you want to invest in a stock that will triple, Sirius is a good bet. It's health is much better than XM and XM has nothing to show that it's going to change. Sirius has more cash, less debt, and now all of the sports programming.

XM has missed the boat and GM was probably the only reason it performed as well as it did. Their values are pretty close to the same and currently Sirius has about half the subscribers that XM has, but that's quickly changing.

At $4 a share it's a good buy, IMO, for 3 years down the road.

XM gets NFL next year, has MLB and Nascar. Clear Channel is a major investor. And Stern has not given them anywhere near the bump they were hoping for. Sirius doesn't have the tie in with a car manufacturer so fewer units are hitting the road. I have had XM for 2 years and with my MyFi I can listen anywhere, even in my deer blind (slow day last year).

I think you are way confused.

Nascar is gone to Sirius starting next year and I don't think the NFL is going anywhere that I know of. As far as cars:

Aston Martin

Audi

BMW

Chrysler

Dodge

Ford

Hertz

Infiniti

Jaguar

Jeep

Land Rover

Lexus

Lincoln

Mini

Mazda

Mercedes-Benz

Nissan

Volvo
