This may have been up here before--excuse me if it has--I am new here.

In NJ, handheld cell phones are becoming illegal. Has anyone founf a way to hook up a cell phone to the onstar speaker and microphone.

Onstar personal callin plans are not cheap and my H2 is not a daily driver.

Welcome H2crazy:
This has been discussed some with no clear resolution. I would love to tear out On-Star all together as I never used it in the first free-year period, and they want a "rip-off" rate to keep it going/use there cell phone feature.

The slot in the dash would be a useful storage area, and it would be nice to utilize my portable cell phone, hands free as well. Good luck and let us know what you can find out.

I wish they would start a program to allow it to be used on a pay/use system. Then if I needed it it would be there....but I am just one to rarely if ever need such a service. OnStar/GM are you listening???....probably not for something that might save the consumer a buck or two!

In the near future blue tooth will take over all car audio systems and maybe Onstar will integrate it also

I was trying to figure this out as well. Hum2 I feel the same way.

* Number of times I will use Onstar over the next 3 years = 0

* Number of times I fumble after my cell phone because the Onstar location should have been storage slot = 346,972

My numbers of onstar vrs cell is about the same Zazing!

Maybe a electrical teck on here can give us all an answer to my question.
