ok, so i got the new jc whitney catalog and i noticed this do-hickey called an oil change pump, it is a pump attached to a tank and u just syphon the oil out of where u put the dip stick and than add clean oil, of course u would still have to change the filter but what do u reckon about this?

moss sells a valve that you can replace your drain plug with. when you want to drain the oil you just turn the valve by hand. can't get much more easier than that.

I had a drain valve on my Harley to make that simple oil change a 'No-Brainer'... problem is, somehow, the valve got opened when I was on a dirt road and I was stuck.

My worry would be that the valve (like the one on my HD) could get opened by accident and you dump out all that important fluid on the ground and then you are stuck!

Take a wrench to the plug... Like Phil states... cant get much easier than that!!

I changed my oil for the first time today and all I have to say is make sure that you budget some time. You have to remove both skid plates to drain the oil. The placement of the oil filter is probably the dumbest location that I have ever seen, not to mention I think that the Incredible Hulk screwed mine on at the factory!

You must have more skid plates than i do??

i figured it was a stupid thing, just wanted clarification, and for those of you who like to off road, wouldnt u be worried the valve would come open on the trail?
