I was wondering if anyone on this list might be able to help me.

I currently have my H2 in the body shop to be repaired afte being hit and runned by a drunk driver. The left rear quarter panel needs to be replaced, however i feel like I am getting the run-around from the body shop. They are telling me that they can not find a left rear quartner panel. I think that they are just making excuses for not having my car fixed, they have had it almost 30 days.

Does anyone on this board have access to Hummer Parts, where they oculd locate a left rear quarter panel, or at least tell me where i could tell this repair shop to find one???

I really appreciate it....

Mike

Mike,

Call me tomorrow. I own Collision Specialties, Inc. in NC. Everything we do is word of mouth along with doing a few dealerships work. One of those dealers is a local Hummer dealer.

If you call me tomorrow, I'll check on availabilty of getting a qtr. I honestly can't see why it whould take 30 days.

We've got an H2 in the shop now. It's almost 15K worth of work and it'll be done in about a week. (we've had it for 2-3 weeks now)

Anyway, if you need for us to check, let me know...

Riot probably lives in an area where the body shop needs to wait until an H2 has been stolen and stripped before they can get parts.
Riot, do you live in L.A.?

Guys,

I just logged back in after a week or so away. I am getting the run around from the body shop. I have family that are executives at GM and they are telling me that GM hasnt had a parts run in a while for Hummers. However i refuse to believe that somewhere in the country there is not a darn left rear quarter panel.

BTW. I live in Chicago, and I have talked to a few other body shops around here that say the same thing.

Orange,

I will call you on Monday if you dont mind. I would be interested in what an "out-of-state" repair shop could do.

also...

They have never located the Drunk Driver, we only have a description of the vehicle.

late Model Saab, Dark Blue or Black. Last seen fleeing the scene of a accident, smoking and putting after hitting a hummer on the freeway.

I suppose I dont know for 100%. However from the several people that stopped it would appear that the person was indeed drunk. I guess they were weaving and wandering, speeding up and slowing down for several miles before hitting me.

Riot,

Let me know. I'll call the dealer and use a GM locater to find the part (if one's available)

Usually, if a vehicle is down and one is available, the manufacturer's usually help get one shipped faster.
