Hi, this is my third or fourth time posting on the forum. I have a 2003 H2 with 24000 miles on it. It has a 4 inch lift kit on it, supercharged, with a bunch of stuff from the previous owner professionally installed. The guy did everything by the book, and everything was installed properly. A few days ago I put in the sound system that I moved out of my BMW 740 (2000). Now, the check engine light is on, and its orange in color. The car seemed to be running fine (and still does) but that check engine light is still on. The engine oil is at 27%, which I know needs to be changed, and I will be changing it tomorow. The only problem I am having with the car, is every once in a while, usually in the morning, I go to start the car and I hear nothing from the engine. The radio comes on, the seats move, everything seems to work, but the car doesnt start. I keep turning the key over and over and fiddling with the steering wheel and the shift, and it will eventually turn on. Does anyone have any idea what the problem with this is? When I first bought the car I had this same problem, took it in to the dealership, they couldnt find the problem, but did fix it. Please someone let me know what I should do because I am completely bewildered by this problem.

Thanks alot

I had the same problem with a cherokee i had, a mechanic friend of mine looked at it and said there was a wire that was touching the frame from the satelite radio install and it was causing a short thus the car wouldnt start, but it was funny after fiddling with the ignition key it would sometimes turn over, but i went on a trip and could not get it to crank , so had it towed and the local shop did a starter replacement , my guy said that wasnt the problem cuz it wouldnt start after that either , hope this helps but it is a litle vaugue, as i am not that mechanically inclined

I had the same issue after a stereo upgrade. They changed my ignition switch, and it went away.

The ignition switch seems to be the culprit for many odd symptoms based on feedback from other members on this forum.

the dealer can hook it up to a cpu and read the code why your light turned on then they can fix it.
