Anyone have this problem with their SMA door buckets pitting. Mine are only three months old and look like sh*t.

Is this typical of SMA products? I have their side vents are they are fine? I went through maybe two snow storms are they are trashed?

Polish and wax and move to the middle of the country!
SMA products are great but,you need to do more then wash them.
Not trying to be a smart ..well just contact who ever you have obtained them from.
Chrome is a chore ask any Harley person.

they've been polished waxed continously. I dont polish and wax my wheels, or nerf bars and those look great???

email or call the place you obtained your SMA product from. I would assume they would warranty them. Could have been a bad batch or something.

Call SMA direct!

Chrome = feces

That is all.

SMA has a warranty--let the guy you bought them from deal with it--he made $.

You will get them replaced for free----as said here though, keep them clean and polished--water sits in the buckets sometimes and it will ruin them. Your vents poll no water so they should be fine.

See bling just causes problems! **** bling!!!!

SMA sucks bad. I have been waiting months for an RMA and SMA is stating because they need CEO approval to provide the RMA!

HGW 01-28-2006 01:46 AM

SMA management does suck lately---unfortunatley their product is the best I have seen. I have seen the knockoffs and I can tell the diff.

Defenderworks has good stuff but the owner went nuts on getto stuff for a while--they are coming back to what the customers want--not there yet. I spoke to them at SEMA at lengh--they asked me to evaluate some of their stuff--have not gotten to it yet--it is sponsorship season for me--no time for evaluation of someone's product.

I've had the SMA buckets for a year and 1/2, with no problems. And our weather up here is the SHIIT

I'm thinking maybe you just got the 1 in 1000 that sucks. Luckily that's what warranties are good for

Here's your buckets... Recognize 'em now?

MSeeb 01-28-2006 07:34 PM

I ended up replacing my billeted hood grille, all door buckets, a couple of the handles and my rear louver covers after only two years. They were from Defender Worx, which is a top notch company. I washed the truck once maybe twice a week, but would only wax it once every 4-6 months. I was told that the chrome billeted pieces should be waxed almost everytime that you wash the truck, if subjected to road salt.

Regardless of the upkeep, I wouldn't do it any other way. The chrome is so much nicer looking than plain black. Sorry anti-blingers, no disrespect intended.
