I thought I would share these pictures from this past weekend's Hummer Happening in Peoria, Illinois put on by D&D Hummer of Davenport, Iowa and Green Hummer of Peoria. There was an inch of rain the day before which made a couple areas of the course impassable and some of the inclines much more challenging then normal. There was a good turnout and everyone had a great time.

Damn I wish I knew of that event Rizza Hummer is really lacking in notifying owners of mid-west events.

Look like a huge turnout and a lot of fun. Those H3s sure looked like they fit right in. I am impressed, even had a damn police escort

I see there are a number of H2s with a sticker of the year on the windshield. We these dealer demo units or what?

HummerNewbie 06-14-2005 06:00 PM

When is the video coming out Looked like a couple of guys were running around with professional grade Beta cameras.

Jimages 06-14-2005 11:30 PM

The H3's did fit right in. They are a nice little unit.

The police escort was pretty cool and that group of Hummers turned a lot of heads.

The dealers brought quite a few vehicles from the lots. You could ride with them if you didn't feel like taking your own out on the course. It also gave their employees a chance to play! I know the owner was driving one of their '05's on the course. If you go to buy one - check for dirt underneath.

The guy with the video camera was from the local TV station. He was filming a hill that was a little too steep and greasy so they were attaching a steel cable to "lower" the trucks down.

The dealer plans on doing something quarterly and things worked out so well they hope to have a dual dealer happening again.

Didn't see any shots of the H3 wheeling or even dirty. Did they go out at all? If so, do you know how they did?

Jimages 06-15-2005 01:07 AM

Nope, none of the H3's went out. Most of them were only about two to three weeks old so the owners were pretty hesitant to get them dirty. I guess I don't blame them. The dealer brought one but that was used for show. They said they can't keep them in stock! According to the feedback from the GM rep the H3's will hold their own off road.

Where did your group go out? I know that area pretty well over there.

Looks like you all had a great time.
Thanks for sharing.

Timgco - I wish I could help you out with your question on where we were but I don't have a clue! We all met at the Par-A-Dice Hotel and Casino and were escorted about five miles to the site, I believe heading south. I don't live in the area so can't really give you more then that. I do know the site is owned by the guy with the multi-colored H1 and is used for company events and is next to a bog run. That's the best I can do for you. Next time I'll pay more attention to where we are.

The dealer liked my pictures and has now posted them on their site so I will be deleting them from the original links.
