Car Talk (national radio show) rants... I mean rates the H2... (link)

Quote:

The Hummer H2 simply represents the worst parts of our national personality, in one, ugly, gas-guzzling hunk of metal. It's brutish, arrogant, huge, ostentatious, selfish, and wasteful. Oh, and did we mention ugly?

This is a vehicle a guy buys (and it's almost all guys) to compensate for something else. It's such a sad statement that says "I have very little self worth." Why else would a poser drop $50,000 big ones to pretend he's in the army? I mean, something is missing from his life, don't you think?

So rather than rude gestures or angry rhetoric, we recommend sympathy. When you see a guy drive by in a Hummer, shake your head, furrow your brow, and say "you poor, poor man."

Kind of funny how the Jeep has been in the Army long before Hummer, yet they never criticize the Jeep.

KenP 03-08-2006 04:07 AM

I bought ours to compensate. So what's wrong with that?

Why is it that the have-nots always try to go for the penis size? You can't have anything nice without it being about your ween. That's such a primitive attempt at denigrating a perceived potential mating rival. It's a tactic that's very commonly observed occurring between females in primitive tribes. They try to make sure that a potential rival is perceived as unworthy of a desired mate's attention.

Agreed-

Buy a Vette-
Buy a Viper-
Buy a Hummer-
Buy a Ferrari-

Damn...I would think if that were true I'd sport about 22 inches buy now.

For those who believe that, I truly appreciate your concern for my winkey. It is flattered.

So what are women compensating for when they buy a Hummer?

What can you say when they are impressed by a Subaru. Maybe they would match 'length' for pink slips, but who the hell wants to drive a Subaru.

Boy I must be compensating because my great job, nice house, loving family and money in the bank sucks and isn't enough I guess.
