My advice: Go back to school and learn how to use punctuation.

Niether, the best rig is a highly Modified full size Plastic Shopping cart. If it breaks, there is an endless supply of spare parts at strip malls all across the country.
That'a why us Homeless people covet then so dearly |
jeeps got the hemi, and the cool sunroofs in the rear... but other than that, im sure the h3 can punish it on the offroad so just go by looks.. and ergonomics.. the ergos of the jeep may be better... but jeeps are gay sooooooo u decide

Definitely buy the Jeep. Then kill yourself.

It all depends on what you want to do, I both a 2005 Grand and a H3. The only complaint I have with the Grand is the lack of ground clearance. As far a power and towing, the two don't compare. So make sure you are prepared when you test drive both. Anyway build quality and reliability are about the same ,but in the following years I expect to have fewer problems with the H3. Offroad the Grand could go any where the H3 could go and for that matter H2 as long as you add a lift, rockrails and larger tires. Plans in the next 2 months is to add the superlift suspension kit and 33" tires. Anyway I love both due to me being a long time Jeep and Gm owner.

Style: H3 gets raves, Commander looks like a Kleenex box
Power: H3 has its detractors on power. A bit anemic merging on the interstate, but its a bulletproof engine. Jeep has old Chrysler wheezers (IMO, the hemi on that chassis is an very bad accident waiting to happen! I'm surprised DC's lawyers let 'em do it.) 4x4: For serious offroading, the less-complicated H3 system was my choice over the computerized multimode Jeep system. H3's rear locker has much better crawling ratio if that matters to you. Comfort: H3 is a fantastically comfortable road rig. Dunno about the Jeep; probably better around town. Jeep has 3rd Row seats but only for dwarves or double amputees. And I'd much rather deal with a Hummer dealer than a DC/Jeep store at purchase and for service. H2: The thrill is gone. By next summer, they'll be giving 'em away. |

Yahoo has a bunch of good evals on both vehicles... I think the H3 is winning out that argument there though.

For ride, the H3 has the Jeep beat by a mile. If you need to pull a heavy tow, get the Jeep with a hemi.
For speed and offroad, I prefer my Cessna Skyhawk. |

After owning Cherokee & Grand Cherokees for almost 20 years - I switched. Jeep left the off-roading crowd with their latest offerings. Their ad campaign is a farce in my opinion. With the H3 you've got 24" of height before water becomes a problem - not in a the Commander, Grand Cherokee or Liberty ... Enjoy an H3 and watch the Hummer Envy
|
And the Commander makes a great minivan substitute with its 3rd row seating.
|
I couldn't make up my mind between the two of them either. In my opinion, I got more car for a better price in the H3 and I have no regrets in the one I chose. But thats just me!!! Plus, the Jeep dealer did a great job of pissing me off and I don't get mad easily.
