Here is the moment I (and maybe we) have been waiting for....SNOW...in the northeast!! I get to run up and down the interstate going to fire calls (mostly suv's rolled over). Do you guys think it would be a good idea to leave the tires @ 37 psi or bring them down? Either way..cant wait

Mike
Do you have any pictures of your LED bars. I am thinking of mounting some LED bars from 911EP on my rig. |
Hey chief! How many years you got on? I'm still a rook...you a paramedic too?

Sweet, good to see some real American Heros on the site. Hats off to you guys.

Thanks for your service men.
It appears this is the first of two quick punches for the east coast. Today here at the Beach we have had rain, but at the new home site, 35 mins. away and inland, there were flurries. It is amazing the impact the ocean and bay have on the weather here. Some folks have Lake Affect snow, we have Bay Affect. Thanks again gentleman. Black Lingenfelter Lux |
Snow baby!! South Jersey
We are supposed to get 1-3 inches tonight and 3-5 tomorrow night. Yep, they're calling for 12"+ here in central CT. Supposed to start tonite and go thru sunday.
I love driving in the snow! This is the last winter for the beloved Cherokee. Next winter should be more fun. ![]() - Dan ------------------------------------------------- SUT on order 12/02. 12 months down, 6 to go! ------------------------------------------------- |
I hate the snow!
Maybe if I had the road to myself and didn't have to deal with all the other idiots it would be fun. |
Exactly! I love driving in it, but I hate driving in it with other people.
Its probably the same up there in Mass - get a little dusting and people drive like it's the apocalypse. ------------------------------------------------- SUT on order 12/02. 12 months down, 6 to go! ------------------------------------------------- |
Gents
Just picked up my new H2 last night. Perfect timing for the snow, but I need a little help with the 4WD set up. Do you pan on leaving your in 4- Hi or are you going to change it out to something else? |
As I understand it, from a non-owner:
4 HI = good for snow 4 HI Locked = good for deeper snow Never use 4 LOW or the rear locker on the road. - Dan ------------------------------------------------- SUT on order 12/02. 12 months down, 6 to go! ------------------------------------------------- |
4 HI = street and HWY or light off road
4 HI (lock) for extra traction in most off road situations sand, mud, snow, rocky trails 4 LO (lock) deep sand, snow or climbing/decending steep hills(less than 50 MPH) H2 MODS: Xtremeflow Exhaust, Power Flash Programmer, Xtremeflow Intake, Hella Bixenons, Polished Skid Plate, Chrome OEM Wheels, Chrome Driving Light Bezels, Rosen R6500 |
I actually left mine in 4HI all last winter and it was just fine. Sometimes up to a foot and a half of snow at a time.
|
Just found out my truck will arrive on Tuesday next week. NOT such good timing.
BUT, I am leaving for Las Vegas and onto Phoenix on Saturday Eve. IF - The snow doesn't close the airports. Wish me luck. SRFCASTR |
Been in it--off and on--for the past month. I put the snow tires on a month ago, Studded & Siped around. I run the 37's @ 35psi--better footprint for the studs/sipping to work. Yes, lowering the tire pressure will help with traction, 30-35psi for stock would be work fine, slowing down and allowing plenty of stopping distance--Better!

Hey Big Z, where in OR are you from?
|
Over in Bend Area.
|
I too am psyched. I'm leaving work early to drive around. First time in the snow for my H2.
Now here's something I yet don't know. I completely understand what 4Hi, 4Hi (lock) and 4Lo (lock) are. Now what exactly does the traction control button do and with which gear setting do you use it? Anyone read that part of the manual? |
TC2
This button allows for more wheel spin durring conditions were needed. For example Donuts in the snow. The cars traction control system would not allow you to spin tires to perform this monuver. now push TC2 and now you can do spins. Front Locker, Stealth winch, 37" Super Swampers SSR,low center of gravity = Ultimate H2 |
