I've read that some GM components, once installed in a vehicle, are tied to that vehicle's VIN and will then not work in any other vehicle. Nixxxster, do you know if that's the case with yours?

Found it: http://elcova.com/groupee/forums/a/t...001#4031031001

I can ship it but prefer pickup. If we can work out the transaction I'll more then happy to ship it.

I've heard the same thing, but the dealer should be able to reset the vin#. Not to sure about the XM

The dealer hooks the radio to a computer and transfers the curent radio data to the new unit. It remembers everything down to your presets. They can reset the Nav for you. This just disourages theft as you must have the dealer reprogram before you install.

Wow...No taker on this, Ebay is selling then like hot cakes up to $1000 buck.

Was it removed from your H2?

Nixxxster 08-09-2005 03:27 AM

Kacyk,
It's still in my H2. Looking for a new setup before I remove it. My other thread is asking other about the Eclipse unit
