Thank your son from my end for his service. I have a lot of respect for those guys. I am in the business of manufacturing large diameter steel pipe for hi-pressure natural gas pipelines. We use large steel plates that we form and weld into pipe. The Government has been buying huge amounts of armor plate so I have to think that many of the Hummers are plated by now.

Pass on my thanks to your son. My son is going to boot camp June 20th...He wants to be a Marine. He has been training with a recruiter, working out all the time, he is really looking buff. I am proud of him. One side benefit, I have about ten cases of MRE's...

This is what he saw when he got home on leave March 4th.
It seemed like most everyone who drove past honked or stopped to tell me to tell him a big Thank You. Not including several who had to come up to the house to tell him that personally. It really touched me as a dad.
That was not including the local news station coming over for a interview ect.
No one has told me who called em for a local story....(they are not my favorite people)
He is like me.....humble in what he does, but just says its what he gets paid to do for you all.

Let me add my name to the list of people who say thanks. All I can think is................................................ ................he's just a kid, he looks so young , when in reality, he is more of a man than most will ever have to be.

dochummer 03-30-2005 02:38 AM

Ditto on all the comments above. My neighbor's son just returned from iraq.

h2co-pilot 03-30-2005 10:42 AM

Wow, I can imagine the stories he has to tell from the pictures...what a wonderful man, cute too Thank you for everything in the most sincerest way.

Great sign you made for him!!! What was the first thing he wanted to do, or eat, etc.......when he arrived in freedom country?

oma 03-30-2005 02:10 PM

The pictures of the torn up vehicles are just scary!! I'm happy your son is back home and will continue to think of all those still there and pray for their safe return. Thanks for all his efforts!
