Ok, Porsche, Volvo, BMW, MBZ, Lexus, ect, ect, ect.
It's called The Pike's Peak.
Don't get me wrong, I love Audi for their cars, but c'mon!!! Couldn't they just leave well enough alone and make some of the world's best AWD cars?

Every time I see a new SUV out and it looks like this....the more happy I get knowing the H2 still stands alone.

Worried though that pretty soon some foreign company is going to come out with a "Hacked" version of the Hummer.

I hear Nissan already has a monster in the works.

If I remember it correctly, it was developed by the same Porsche engineering team and on the same platform and structure as Porsche and VW. 3 for the price of 1. Audi has beautiful automobiles, too bad(or fortunately) I promised myself long ago I'll never buy another Audi again, ever. He who forgets the past is doomed to repeat the history.

Other than that, more cars and SUVs the better.

Looks like a hair dryer...

SUT on order 12/02. 10 months down, 8 to go!

I'm not sure who would buy that. It looks like an overgrown station wagon and certainly too pretty to go on any trail. Take a look at that front end too and tell me that won't be all scraped up from exiting tight parking spaces. That's why I love Hummers. You have to really work at destroying them.

can someone say late to market........LOL

What was that guy thinking wearing brown shoes? Oh never mind that must be the design team

SUTJim 10-06-2003 05:41 PM

Oh my gosh, N2ITNSD, I was just scrolling down to make a comment about the shoes! When I first saw the pic my eyes went straight to the shoes. Maybe it is a ploy to distract your attention away from the hairdryer station wagon next to him.

If I EVER see one of those on the trail...I'll freak. Then I'll ram it. That thing is just whacked-ugly.

DennisAJC 10-06-2003 06:24 PM

Steve, that sounds like a comment the heepers made when the H2 first came out. Ram it they couldn't .

Why did they name it Dikes Peaks? I'm not sure if that name will work.

It would be fun to tow one up the hill on it's top.

Don't know about the brown shoes, but that jacket is standard European type of business wear. In the US, in a crowd of 1000s, I can spot them instantly.

The response here is as predicted and will be proven irrelevant. I did read a review about it, the magazine seemed quite impressed, I don't remember the details, except that it was concept car at that point, many parts were temporary glue and stick on, and it was on US ground. My only guess is that a company like Audi generally always will not sell a car until when it is ready to withstand the toughest condition, tested 1,000s of times in rough locations around the globe. No doubt, it will be a good seller.

Another good thing about it is that these 3 German makers are spreading the SUVs to Europe. Despite the SUV's popularity here in the States, they have been extremely rare on the Continent, until MB M class and X5 showed up, yet choices have been very limited. With the new Porsche, VW, Audi, Volvo and X3, there is no stopping of the SUV wildfire.

We had a guest at our party couple weeks ago, she had an 1 day new FX45. I was very impressed, the interior was clean and hi-tech, the exterior was handsome and unique. Smaller than a SUV but taller and bigger than a car, I guess sort of like Pacifica, which I have yet to see one.

that fx45 is a good suv for on road pavment use the v8 goes to 60 in under 6 seconds

That thing is surely a hair drier. Did you notice Jerry Springer on the right checking it out?

Dan:

Your "hair dryer" comment cracked me up! I realize it was mostly tongue-in-cheek, but I actually laughed out loud when I read that. Sometimes, a simple comment is the best. Thanks, bud, for helping to end my day with a laugh. I needed that!
