Based on what's I've read on the forum I'm guessing it's a good idea to carry a spare tie rod. Agreed? Any other suggestions for parts and tools to carry?

I would carry more tools than spare parts. Almost anything is repairable enough to get you limping home.

I hear you on bad driving and broken parts. Since even experienced drivers break stuff from time to time, we'll pack a spare tie rod and lots of tools and call it prepared.

Beyond tie-rods, some would say pitman/idler arms and panhard rod. I generally carry a good compliment of tools but no parts. My personal feeling is the best items to have with you, especially if it's difficult terrain, are good friends in other 4x4's.

Don't leave home without them.
