I did a quick search but didn;t really find anything where anybody mounted Jerry cans on thier rig. I was looking to mount 2 and didn't really want to put them on the roof. I was hoping somebody has tried to put them on the spare tire mount in the back of an SUT. Where have or woudl you mount them on your rig? Pics are good.

Anybody else getting no pics and busted links? That used to be a pretty cool web site but it hasn't worked right for me in months.

VTSTOMPER 10-26-2005 12:58 PM

Wayback Machine rocks. A few of the pictures are still broken but most work.

Is that drilled through the rear gate?

Good call, LASwampLobster. Great pics and been wondering about this, too.

I imagine so. Don't think two-sided tape would hold that?

I also imagine he removed the tailgate inside trim and bolted the can holder on. Screws would be risky.

Thought it might be heavy duty magnets.

I think I'd buy 2 cans. For the days that I knew I wouldn't need the gas, I'd carry sugar or wax laced gasoline in the can. Someone is bound to steal that can!

thanks ya'll but here in FL the gas line are about 6 miles long right now. SO i am looking to mount 2-4 cans on an SUT. I need to be able to get home and still run my generator
THanks one reason i didn't want them on the roof. So maybe I can mount them to my gobi bed rack laying down. Two on each side. Hurricane time off isn;t so bad as long as the DSL stays up. sort of like this...

timgco 10-27-2005 07:22 PM

SUT1 you need a GOBI bed rack like a few of us have. Than you can mount a ton of cans up there on lock them on your rack. I'll get you some pics if interested.
