Costco sells a 300w flood light that only uses 55w. Can I hook this up using a 12v-120v transformer without jeapordizing the H2 battery?

I don't think you'll have a problem. With 12V you'll be using under 5 amps, which you can run for hours on the H2 battery.
But how does a 300W bulb run on 55W? |
