I hear a 90 degree drill adapter is nice, and they are inexpensive, and work great if not a lot of torque is required (and you do not need a lot of torque for this install).

Are you planning on taking off the tires? Because it is not totally necessary to but makes it easier. Not faster but easier.

If you have a angle drill its simple. If you get a chance stop by local auto store(or dealer) with the plastic screw plug(comes with flaps) and see if they could match it to the removable kind like the one you have to reuse in installation
You will need 2( they fit in a 1/4 inch hole) .Then you can remove them for rock crawling.you will have 2 extra factory plugs when done im going to get extra ones, I wish i thought of it before i installed them. I am also doing the install this weekend.
Thanks for the mention of a drill adapter. I was trying to borrow a drill, and now i only need the adapter. Aloha Turk. |
I just did this last week with a drill and no adaptor. For the front wheels... Turn them all the way right to get behind the front left wheel and all the way to the left for the right front wheel. Made access to drill a breeze.. and I was using a big cordless Dewalt drill.
As for the back I found that using the factory jack to lift the rear frame up gave me enough clearance to drill the holes in the back as well. All in all its an easy project. ![]() |
i just drilled my holes at an angle on the rears. no jackin or nothin.
If I was thinking i would have only installed the front ones as the rears dont do anything for you besides get ripped off when you are 4 wheelin. and if that happens its gonna look like hell |
I would use angle drill if you drill on a angle hole might be slightly bigger and screws wont hold as good .Angle attachment a good investment comes in real handy when needed , buy it put it in tool box and you will use it all the time.
