How well can the chrome parts like wheels take snow, rain, salt and other stuff winter might bring upon them?

I have the factory chrome wheels and they're holding up good in the salt we get here in the winter. I use the Dupont teflon wheel cleaner which seems to help.

I have the factory wheels that have been chromed, and people have said I am better off not running them in the winter.

Wheels take it hard...Dans factory ones would probably hold up better than the ones I bought - factory is hard to beat. Also the factory chrome wheels are textured in all the places mine would pit. Mine are smooth every single place.

I have stainless running boards, and they are looking great after a .5 winter. However, the tip and tail are pitted from me not running mud flaps. That comes from sand blast baby!
