This is a pic of my H3 with my custom eurostyle parking lights. In Europe it is not allowed to have yellow parking lights, thus I had to come up with a custom solution, which to my surprise changed the front appearance of my H3 quite drastically. I think it looks a little wider with these lights... but maybe that's just me...

From the rear... cleanly integrated, no visible cables.

Sharkster,
Interesting. That gap in the corners looks okay when it's empty, but with the light in it, it looks like it needs to be filled in. I be it'd look even better if you could find/fab a black metal plate to surround the lights and fill the gap. Looks like nice clean wiring from what I can see. |
Do you know what the European taillights look like? From my understanding, in some European countries the flasher must be amber in the rear.
I changed my US Vette taillights to European with clear with amber silverstar bulbs a few years ago. |
european lisence plates are way cooler than us...lol..totally random..but w/e

@ree: The lights are exactly centered (left/right) in the hole. It acutally looks pretty good in person and you don't realize the gap, since it looks all just black around the lights. I kinda like the space around the lights... but that's personal preference, I guess.

I had the white backup lights converted to flashers (with yellow bulbs) and an additional backup light has been mounted to the car (because it's okay in Europe to have just one backup light). I also needed to add a rear "fog light" (also a requirement in Europe). Here's a pic of the rear view. Note the lights underneath the bumper... |
And I thought that only us Americans had stupid laws like these. By the way I'm pretty sure the regular parking lights up front are orange but maybe i'm color blind.

Hi sharkster! I'm from Italy and my H3 was originally imported by a german dealer who made the same modification you made on your car. How did you solve the problem of having the DRL light in orange? thank you for your help

The turning lights will still work, but the DRLs are now the tiny lamps in the bumper. |

Sharster where did you buy the lights (USA or D)? |
Re: PIC: Eurostyle Parking Lights
How do the people in Europe like the H3?
I bet you get lots of looks. |
Re: PIC: Eurostyle Parking Lights
We have a few H1s, H2s and H3s in the area. For the most part around, as there are so many American's with American cars, they don't tend to really pay too much attention. I do every once in awhile catch someone giving it a look over in the parking lot. (I need to get a remote start installed to make them wet themselves as they are looking in the window.) I have give a few a tour of it. As you get out to some of the other towns and countries--where they don't see us everyday--it gets a lot more looks.

But you painted nice chrome rims :twak:  |
Re: PIC: Eurostyle Parking Lights

Re: PIC: Eurostyle Parking Lights
@mountainbiker: I bought the lights in Germany, but they were custom made from universal truck marker lights.
@H3HUMMER: Yup, I painted the chrome rims, but left the clip in chrome. It's looks pretty wicked... here are more pics of my H3: http://elcova.com/groupee/forums/a/t...1/m/6051001441 |
