Hey, I saw a reply from DarthKarl
on this topic but the reply has disappeared! He said that I could get an online copy of the service manual by registering at http://www.mygmlink.com, but I did that and could not find the service manual. The only manuals I see online there are the owner's manuals: PDF View Supplement: Getting To Know Your 2006 H3 PDF View Owner's Manual Navigational Supplement And, I see the option to purchase a paperback service manual there. Maybe that's why DarthKarl's message was removed. Too bad, it would be awesome to have the service manual as a .pdf file. Has anyone bought the service manual? It says to call the phone number 800-551-4123 to order one. |
Ah, here's one more reply on this:
Using www.mygmlink.com I see that I can order this manual for the 2006 H3: 2005 Service Information DVD-Retail Price: $400.00 In Stock (English, Paper, V200503DVDRETAI) (I did a search for the 2006 H3 so I'm not sure if that 2005 Service Information DVD really covers the 2006 H3. Maybe not.) $400 -- Interesting. |

I just checked Helm, Inc., which is the fullfillment house for GM manual distribution. They do not list a paper service manual for the H3, only the DVD. The DVD, contains Information on all GM vehicles from 1998 Thru 2006; that is why the price is $400.00.
When the paper only H3 comes out, I'm going to guess it will be around $130.00, but that is a guess, since there has been talk at GM to discontinue all paper manuals. The DVD version must be left in the computer at all times, you can't copy it over to your hard drive, so anytime you need to use it, it has to be inserted into the DVD reader. It also has some problems running on anything other than 2000 or XP professional; unless they fixed this problem. I will say, I have been able to run it on XP home (laptop) with minor problems; however, I have friends who have failed. |
OK, thanks for the complete info,
DarthKarl and f5fstop! |
