AFP iactivFrench Hope Curfews Bring End to Unrest
AP - 16 minutes ago
PARIS - President Jacques Chirac declared a state of emergency Tuesday, paving the way for curfews to be imposed on riot-hit cities and towns in an extraordinary measure to halt France's worst civil unrest in decades after 12 nights of violence. Police, meanwhile, said overnight unrest Monday-Tuesday, was still widespread and destructive but not as violent as previous nights.

It only took this country full of NANCYS 12 days to finally react to this riot. I guess they originally thought it was going to "miracle" itself away. 300 cities involved, 1600 cars burned, countless buildings destroyed including a police station, hundreds injured and 1 person dead and now they decide to implement a curfew!

I'm convinced these people are afraid of EVERYONE including themselves!

And somehow it'll be President Bush's fault.

I cracked up when I saw the news yesterday lunchtime... I'm not sure what channel was on, but the title of the news story was, "FRANCE FRIES"...
