Over the past week, I have been getting a bit of slip when taking off from a stop, like I was taking off in 2nd or 3rd gear, but within a foot or so, first gear would engage and all would be well. Today, though, it's like I completely lost 1st gear, maybe 2nd too. I stopped and put it in 1st gear, no problem. Then 2nd gear from a stop, no problem, but then a healthy slip when changing to third while rolling.
I'll be taking it in to the stealer (sic) on Monday, but wanted to see if anyone had any similar problems or any advice. Thanks, Pete |

J, feel free to call me Pete in public. LOL
Yeah, I'm BUMMED! I just ran a diagnostic check with my Superchips programmer, and got the follwoing codes: #1) P0740 - Torque Convertor Clutch Circuit Malfunction #2) P0785 - Shift Timing Solenoid Error ![]() I'm on my fourth of many beers to come, gonna drown my sorrows. ![]() |
PETE LOL , press the onstar button - have them run a test too!!!! I'd like to see what they say...

Just for grins, I'd check the "IGN 0" fuse.
|
Thanks very much, Klaus...you are indeed THE MAN!
I checked the fuse, it's good. I'm still under warranty, so I'm not too concerned. -Pete |
is the dealer gonna fukk with you about the programmer you installled and changed the factory settings, does it have any affect on the warranty? iam wondring cuz i just put in the hyperteech and changed factory settings for my 37inch nittos
|
Common problem, bad ignition switch.
Changed a lot for many DTCs on transmission and fixed .... Easy and cheaper to do... |

Dealership just called...bad ignition switch. WHEW!
Thanks again, guys, much appreciated! |
