yup, can listen to XM while using the nav or I can also use the 12 disc changer while using the nav.

Nice install. Could you post a parts list. Also what is the cause of the 8 character limitation and is there anything that can be done about it?

How did you do that? Thats what i need. Can you hook up aftermarket amps too?

Actually cmb31078 & Klaus did all the work I just followed their leads.
I used the following parts:
Pioneer CDX-P1280 12 Disc CD Changer
Pioneer GEX-P910XM XM Module
Sound Gate P10GM1V2

It does have a few very annoying issues that should be fixed this week via a new Soundgate P10GM1V3 to replace the V2. Rob from Soundgate shipped me the new Version 3 on Friday so I should get it and switch it out in the next few days.
Can't help you with the amp, maybe someone else will chime in.

I think the 8 character is all were going to get from what I have read and the few people I talked to about it. I have never heard a specific reason.
The other half got me a set of these Hadley's off e-bay for Christmas

another nice piece of audio is a caraudio jukebox. a 20-40 gig hardrive that holds up to 20K songs all downloadable and changable form your pc. i put this in my viper and it is an excellent and inexpensive audio upgrade

I saw the part numbers for the XM module and 12 disc changer that you are using. Is there a reason why you didn't go with the XM module and Pioneer 12 disc changer that Soundgate recommends or lists on their website?

Soundgate lists the following on their site that will work with their conversion module:

Pioneer 12-disc: CDX--1270, P1250 and P1230
Pioneer XM Tuners: GEX-P900XM and GEX-FM903XM

I was thinking that they listed the above listed model numbers because that is what would work with their conversion module with no problems.

How did you know which XM module and Pioneer 12 disc changer to go with? Do you think the annoying issues are due to not going with the recommended XM module and Pioneer CD changer that Soundgate recommends?

I was told by soundgate that any CD Changer with the P in the part number would work, the one I ended up getting was the current year model from Pioneer. When I spoke to Rob the President of Soundgate he said the 2004 units were different than the 2003's and they had just become aware that the V2 would not work in the 04's. (I think I posted his emails on the tech forum) He said the V3 would solve the problems we were having on the 2004's
