OK, hopefully the wife doesn't see this question. If I want to install a 6"-9" lift and run 39x14.50x17 or 44x18.5x17 tires on a 17x12 rim, how much backspacing is required? Is there any benefit between having a wheel with 4" of backspacing versus a wheel with 5" of backspacing?

I guess u like the new car?
I would stay w/ less backspace or u will have interference w/ the sway bar and maybe other things. I would try them out w/o tire and see how much clearance u have them subtract the rim from the tire section width and add 1/2 of this measurement to the rim width to see if it will interfer. Like 18.5 tire section width - 12" rim = 6.5/2 = 3.25" of tire will hang out past rim. |
